TO ALL IN THE UPCSA

The Uniting Presbyterian Church in Southern Africa expresses its deepest condolences to the families who lost their loved ones in various countries in the south-eastern part of Africa, due to Cyclone Idai. We are in solidarity with all those who lost their properties. We pray that the Almighty God will help the efforts to comfort the bereaved and to address the situation in the affected parts.

We have been in touch with our Presbytery of Zimbabwe. I have attached the statement, which has been issued by the Clerk of the Presbytery. We appreciate the support and contributions of so many people to ameliorate the plight of the affected people. We commend the efforts by the governments, national and international organisations to attend to the situation.

Having been approached by some UPCSA members who would love to make their contributions, we have offered to receive the donations at Tiyo Soga House (the Central Office) and we will make a plan to forward all to Zimbabwe. We make a call to all to support the victims/survivors of the Cyclone in all manners. As indicated, donations can be forwarded to the Central Office.

Cyclone Idai Statement – March 2019 (1)We will continue to pray for all the affected people, places and governments.

Warmest Regards

Lungile Mpetsheni

General Secretary
