All is set for the holding of the General Assembly Executive Commission in Harare on the 11th – 14th of July 2017, with the Presbytery of Zimbabwe announcing that preparations to host the meeting are at an advanced stage.
The meeting will take place at Silveira House.
“It is indeed a great honour for our Presbytery to host a meeting of this magnitude,” Rose Musonzah, the Convener of the Local Organising Committee said.
“The entirety of our membership is praying for this occasion and we are looking forward to a successful event,” she said. We encourage all congregations to do likewise.
Musonzah, who is also the Presbytery’s Administrator, said that most logistical arrangements in preparation for the meeting have been finalised.
“We have finalised transport and accommodation arrangements for all Commissioners and delegates. Our intention is for us to create a welcoming environment and as such our hospitality team is working round the clock to ensure memorable visit for our out of Zimbabwe delegates.”
She said that they are other activities lined up outside the Commission’s official business, including Worship Services and a Cultural night celebration.
“There is going to be an opening service on the 11th of July and a celebratory service of the 500 Years of Reformation on the 13th of July. We will also have a night that we will thank God and celebrate our diverse cultures in dress, song and dance.”
