Subject: CWM – WCC Antiracist in Christ Webinars
Dear Rev. Mpetsheni ,
Greetings from CWM.
We would love to invite you and members of your church to be part of a series of webinars, “Anti-racist in Christ?” This will be hosted by CWM together with the World Council of Churches.
In the lead up to CWM’s act of repentance and apology for our involvement in the legacies of slavery on August 23, 2021, we are offering these series of webinars for our churches as a means for us to gather and deepen our shared commitment toward becoming antiracist churches.
The ecumenical webinar series would ask questions around ways our churches engage in anti-racist practice. Speakers from Africa, Asia, Caribbean, the Americas, Europe, Middle-East, and the Pacific will be part of the webinar conference series.
Your involvement through participating in any of the webinar series matters.
Dates: June 14-17, 2021
There would be two sessions per day.
June 14: Setting racism within it colonial and neo-imperial context
June 15: Mission agencies legacies
June 16: Models for anti-racist action for white and other dominant racial groups
June 17: Anti-racist markers for churches
More information of this can be found here
