MANDELA DAY EVENT FOR UNEMPLOYED MEN – JZS NCEVU MEMORIAL

When?

On Mandela Day, 18th July 2017, our congregation JZS Ncevu Memorial in Queenstown, organized a function for all unemployed men in our town.

Who?

We had 50 men whom we picked up around town to host and share with them what we call Food of Fellowship. Clothes were collected to give to these fathers, husbands and brothers to take home.

Why?

This was a great day but also a painful experience as it had exposed us to what these people go through in their quest to find work.

What is also amazing is that, these people have skills  – some are electricians, plumbers, drivers, etc.

But because we are in a country where corruption and looting have become the order of day many people are without jobs.

Action

The church has taken a decision to host this kind of event every year during this time to do the little we can to change the lives of our community.
