TO ALL IN THE UPCSA

“…The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective” (James 5:16 NIV).

It is almost two months before the UPCSA General Assembly commences on 26 June 2021. The UPCSA leadership will be in Pietermaritzburg within the Drakensberg Presbytery, the host of the General Assembly. The commissioners will be participating virtually from different points. This will be the first virtual General Assembly and there are important ecclesiological matters to be discussed.

It is against this background that an appeal is made to all in the UPCSA to pray, without ceasing, for the success of the General Assembly. The Presbytery of Drakensberg dedicated every Wednesday to fasting and prayer. The Assembly Business Committee extends a request to all to join the Presbytery on this noble cause every Wednesday, as from 5 May 2021 until the completion of the Assembly on 30 June 2021. In addition to that, the ABC requests all the congregations to dedicate the Pentecost Sunday, 23 May 2021 to pray for the General Assembly.

Indeed, “the prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.”

Warmest regards,
